We had a fantastic experience being the first Stationery Fest 2024 vendor.
We launched several new products at this show, including exclusive ink swatch cards!
We were sold out by day 2, which was really surprising for us tbh, I honestly believed that we brought a TON of inventory.
You can see our ink cards in action through our IG reels "Stationery Store Ink Cards" and "Little Rabbits & Pretty Frames Ink Cards." Due to the high demand for these cards, we will try to make more in the future! It was an experimental project and something that I personally want to use a lot (I collect tons of inks)
We also launched sticky notes tape! Or people like to call them sticker labels :D
Each roll has 8 unique frame designs, which repeat, totaling 100 sticky notes! It's a lot, lol, and the roll is thick. I am very fond of how they turn out!
These papers are especially fountain pen friendly, and the back has a full adhesive surface. Even if you get one, you can cut it and share it with friends and family.
Also, we have more traditional post-it notes. We get them printed with 3M, so you will see the official Post-It logo behind our sticky notes!
Printed in the US and assembled by yours truly in our warehouse hehe. They are truly our labor of love!
The food-star system sticky note has an old school family diner theme with a Shiba mascot. You might see more of this shiba in the future *wink
Last but not least! we have TONS of stickers!! I keep telling myself I need to update the online store more frequently, but no..I ended up piling them up, and you guys will get these massive sticker updates LOL. But there are more to choose from!
We think this is the shiniest holographic sticker we made so far. I've nailed down the technique, haha (we used the same printer), but I've become more strategic about placing them into the designs. I hope to make more in the future. We love you guys so much that we even priced the holographic stickers the same price as our regular vinyl ;) yw
Now, back to the Stationery Fest experience! Not to mention that I'm already a frequent shopper of Yoseka Stationery. They have such a good curation!! So grateful that they host this show and manage to invite so many amazing Japanese, Taiwanese vendors and many more great stationery vendors. I couldn't believe I could just go to place locally in the US and shop all in one place!!!
Here are a few of the vendors that we shopped from:
Kakimori Japan
I got their limited edition inks! I already own a few nibs and inks from them . They are amazing. If you ever visit Tokyo, I highly recommend you stop by their store and build yourself a custom notebook!
Hachimonjiya Store
They have the prettiest pink sailor pen!!! They actually launched the mini-size at the show. IF I DIDN'T ALREADY OWN THE full-size pen, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE MINI SO FAST. I got the full-size pen through a Japanese shopping proxy, LOL, but I managed to buy the inks and the cutest glass stirrer. I also met some of our contacts from Kinokuniya at their table. It was so lovely to meet familiar faces. We love them!!
King Jim
We bought several pretty washi tapes and a clear stamp from them. Their staff was so lovely. They apologized for the long wait (but the line wasn't bad at all). I was very touched by their kindness. I really hope they will come back next year! I will definitely buy more pretty tapes!
Toyooka Craft
This vendor has been on my wish list for the longest time, and I hope to own their beautiful pen box one day. I got myself a pretty pink pen tray. I'm in love. I didn't dare to buy the bigger piece because I have to travel back to San Jose lol, but guess what? They will be at the SF Pen show this week! I'm excited to buy more hoho
Hanabi Glass
This one was a lucky find! I was fortunate to strike up a conversation with their artist, Lucas Mahoney. I owned one glass pen where the nib was slightly chipped. Lucas was kind enough to give some pro tips on how to fix it by sanding it. He showed me how he sanded this one nib, which he called the artist nib. I tried it and was blown away by the line variations. I ended up walking away with a new glass pen, LOL. Lucas said if we ever visit Japan, he'll be happy to fix my chipped glass pen at this workshop. Ahhh, Lucas and his wife were so kind and lovely. I got lucky to catch them at the show since they won't be at the SF Pen Show. I also got an ink well! It's small and compact, and it doesn't have a rough edge that the pen nib won't get chipped from dipping it in. It was an instant buy, lol
Cute Things from Japan
I was so sad that I missed them from the last year's SF pen show! They all sold out by mid-day 2, so I'm determined to shop! They were kind enough to let me shop before the show started, hoho (the advantage of being a vendor TT , I LOVE IT), so I bought a lot. I was so happy they still had the sold-out SF sticker sheet at this show. I'm so grateful and happy.
Oh gosh, did I mention this all happened on day 1? I haven't even started selling; I was already spending so much money, LOL
Traveler's Company
My table is right next to theirs!!! Gosh, I was so nervous on day 1......I didn't want to be a bother LOL their booth is truly.... so so busy LOL I get to witness the true power of traveler's company. It's truly inspiring to see the community they created together. I had a passport size before, but I got a full-size journal! I can't wait to fully fill them out.
Lennon Toolbar
I bought some of their inks from Yoseka online before, but it was so great to see them in person. I was circling their booth around before the show started, LOL, hoping to make some purchase since a friend also asked me to get one of their bubble tea inks. They showed up pretty close to the show's opening hours, but I was there ready to shop, hehehehehe. I managed to get the bubble tea inks along with this beautiful shimmering ink called Ying Piao. Very pretty!!
Opus 88
The lady who runs the booth, named Kelly, is awesome! I didn't own an Opus pen because their system is a more traditional barrel pen. It was a common system on the old school pen and most Japanese pens, but all the fountain pens I owned used cartridges or converters. There's a learning curve in owning an Opus 88 pen, but Kelly explained the whole ins and outs of the pen to me. She was so patient.
So that's how I walked away with an Opus Jazz. I can't wait to fill it with my shimmering inks! I got a M nib.
L.C.N. Design Studio
I have bought some of their wax seals from Yoseka in the past as gifts. For this show, I got their exclusive brass clip hohohohoho and I bought several wax seals as gifts for the same friends. Srsly, if I were a wax seals fan, I might do more damage since her wax seals are soooooo pretty. I couldn't help but admire them!
Leuchtturm Notebook
Last but not least, I got to sit next to Leuchtturm. I was worried they would be intimidating at first, haha, but I was so wrong. Marc was awesome! He shared some awesome tradeshow stories. They were just at Shoppe Object! I got some notebooks with custom initials. Thank you, Marc! You're the best neighbor ever! We love Leuchtturm! Thank you for teaching us how to correctly say it, haha.
Check out this awesome golden fountain pen keychain that the vendor got from Yoseka.
The show was very successful for us that I got myself the Yoseka's Confetti Fountain Pen as a reward. MF nib!
Thank you so much Yoseka staff and volunteers to make it all possible. Hope to come back next year!
